Baseball Mom

Posted by Christine Fleeger on 5/18/2010 07:59:00 PM in , ,
This past weekend was my first experience with Baseball tournaments. My son who is now in the farm league of our local baseball club played 6 games over three days. One friday night, 3 Saturday starting at 8am and then 2 on Sunday. We were on a streak too till Sunday (I think the kids were just worn out). We ened up coming in fourth place. I am so proud of our team of 9 and 10 year olds and as much as I would like to brag about them all I am after all I am only Robby's mom so I will take my rightfully place and start bragging now. Friday nights game was for the most part uneventfully, we whipped the other team 12-4 and everyone had a part in that. Saturday came and getting up earlier on a Saturday morning than we do on a school day was hard not only for me but for my son as well. We had a chat about how you can't skip the first game just because you are tired and how his team was depending on him. The first game we played just as we had the night before with everyone doing their part and getting the job done. The second game we were even more on fire than the first. Robby had a great play helping to get a few guys out and then even scored twice! Wow we are on fire!!!!! Then came the third game and the most amazing thing I have ever seen my son do!!! He got up to bat and had a great hit got on first. Then he stole second and third WOW WOW I was so impressed!!!! The next batter was up and got walked while he was walking to first it hit me if Robby go to score he would have the WINNING RUN!!! The next batter was up he also walked to base so with the bases loaded and two outs our next batter was up. Three Balls and two strikes later he got another ball and walked my son home for the WINNING RUN!!!!! I know it is not as exciting as if he had hit a home-run but I am still the proudest mom ever!!!!

Inspiration

Posted by Christine Fleeger on 5/13/2010 11:30:00 AM
Last night my daughter decided there was no way she could possibly sleep in her own bed and decided to posess mine. By the time my alarm went off to get my son up and ready for school I was actully relieved. This is how my inspirational morning started. After getting my son off to school and BSing with my neighbor for a few I came home knowing that there was no way I was getting to go back to bed with my mini bed hog. (she was now spread eagle in the dead center of my bed) I got on the computer and one of my new friends was on as we chatted she asked me what I do for a living. I explained how I do Christine's Creations and then how I have my own radio show Live Laugh Love LIVE! I realized durring this conversation that I have not done a show in a while with our internet service being so unpredictable thru comcast and having internet access thru my phone. This past week we changed our internet to verizon and now have some reliablility I can get back to it. So back to trying to come up with a topic for this weeks show. I was scanning the internet reading all the blogs that I hadn't caught up on in a while. I realized that altho there are a few basic rules that everyone follows there are a few that people seem to have a fuzzy line on. Altho some of these rules are just a suggestion to follow some are actully laws and must be followed. So if that didn't slap me in the face nothing will "Here is your topic" So were back Wednesday May 26th @ 2pm please join me for a discussion on blogging rules. We would love to hear from you on this topic if you have any questions you would like answered please feel free to comment here and I will get them answered. If you have a blog of your own please join in on our discussion!

Should Mommy Be On Meds???

Posted by Christine Fleeger on 5/12/2010 12:24:00 AM
Today was one of the most serene days of my life. although getting there wasn't that way. It all started last night while watching the hockey game with my husband and our new BFF Casey. (OK he's always been one of my husband's bff but that's a story for another day) We had picked up subway for dinner that night on our way home from my son's baseball game. Now I have been avoiding a bad tooth for a few years now and every once in a while I completely forget that eating subway will irritated my tooth but tonight it was in rare form. I ended up taking one of my husbands left over vikes. (OK for all of you out there who will yell about saving meds give up I don't want to hear it) Off to bed I went with a rice heating pad on my cheek and meds in my system I usually get a good night sleep and wake up feeing fine. But noooooo not this time about 5am I woke up to extreme pain sooooo yep I took another pill so I could just get back to sleep. After waking up getting my son ready for school and sending him off with my sweet husband to the bus stop. I layed on the couch till 11 yes 11am my daughter slept in. Normally I would be freaking because her waking this late means a late night for me. Completely out of character for her she looked at me and said mom can we cuddle on the couch and watch a movie. Of course I am still exhausted and comply. After enjoying our movie she asks for another. At this point I am thinking is she sick?? After a compleat mommy look over nope she is fine I offer to make PB&J sushi and we have a blast making it together. At this point I decide that I am going to make an effort not to yell at all today no matter what. (I did stick to it) She and I had a great day spending time together and after that she allowed me to get my work done while she quietly played. By the time dinner came I pulled out all the leftovers in my fridge that I always swear were going to eat and never do. Everyone ate with no complaints!!!! I don't know that has ever happened before! My son and I sat to do his homework with again no complaints and whizzed thru. Then with compleat amazement my children went upstairs and played nicely together until snack. Soon there after was bed again no complaints. At this point I am now checking to see if these are really my children. I actually got to sit and watch my shows while they were live not DVR'd. As I sat and actually had a conversation with my husband I realized that we were actually talking without any interruptions for the first time in many years. I am considering the statement that my husband is always telling me "chill out" I defiantly felt chilled out all day today and just didn't sweat the small things.

My baby girl is growing up

Posted by Christine Fleeger on 5/04/2010 01:36:00 PM
Every day there is one thing I have completely mixed feelings on. My Daughters hair!! I love how long her hair is but on the other hand I completely hate brushing it! It is always tangled and always has bits of food in it. Anne screams bloody murder every time I brush it, I am real glad we live so far off the beaten path or people might call child services on me for just brushing her hair. We have been talking for months now about getting her hair cut and donating it to locks of love. This past Saturday I geared up to brush Anne's hair and get ready for the day. As usual she screamed and screamed, that was enough for me we went straight to get her hair cut!!! We ended up with 11 inches to send to locks of love. I have to say that her father took it better than I ever thought. He was willing to go on such a whim that day. He held his protective dad pose and walked her right into the salon and watched over her the whole time. Although he is disappointed with how short we had it cut he is being a wonderful father!!!!
